An award-winning independent filmmaker and screenwriter,  Sarah uses narrative and documentary filmmaking and screenwriting to engage with the rural experience. She is especially interested in surreal and magical events.  Her work focuses on the mysteries that occupy familiar places, the beauty inside of the quotidian, and the universal space inside of the magical one.

COTTONWOOD

TELEVISION SERIES

IN DEVELOPMENT

Inspired by FBI dockets and interviews with members of her community, Cottonwood chronicles the relationships between an alien-obsessed Navajo teenage girl, the ranching son of a sensationalist reporter, and the sheltered and abused daughter of the local veterinarian as they navigate the messy territory of high school and the complicated world of rural Southern Colorado in the late 1960’s after the first documented case of animal mutilation. 

Cottonwood won the Featuring Women Award at Series Fest Season 3 will attend IFP in September.

Hold Your Arms Out follows three characters as they search for solutions to impossible problems - Molly attempts to revive her dead fish; O.D. tries to overcome his fear of the color blue; and Roma searches for her first real cowboy. A short exploration of the tiny ways we help one another. 

Hold Your Arms Out is wrapping up its festival tour, having screened at festivals across the United States and Europe. It is currently on tour with Imaginarium Comic Con Film Festivals.
